40-Hour Family Law Mediator Training

September 16-20, 2019 (Mon-Fri)

Attorney: Approved Iowa 41.75, CLE 3.0 Ethics

Training is for Mediators, Collaborative Professionals, Attorneys, CPAs, Financial Planners, Therapists, Child Advocates, Parenting Coordinators, Human Resources, Social Workers

This 40-hour Mediation Training program is for those who want to Mediate in family law disputes, in Court Ordered Roster Mediation Programs, in the Workplace, and facilitate in other areas of Dispute Resolution. The training will form a foundation for your Mediation Practice. Although this training is not intended to be advanced skill training, some advanced skill development may be introduced. Training will provide a comprehensive background in Dispute Resolution enabling you to develop your own style and area of Mediation.

The training will help you to develop a plan to set up a practice/business in Mediation or to use the knowledge gained to become more effective with people that you encounter or to facilitate Dispute Resolution. The training will be a seminar style of learning with active participation by each participant. And, yes, we do a lot of role playing so you get a chance to practice mediating. Please feel free to ask questions as we proceed through the training. This is a 40-hour course and to receive your certificate, you must attend all 40 hours. I will incorporate breaks within the training and we break for lunch daily.


16-Hour Parenting Coordination Training*
September 23-24, 2019

Two-Day Training Program for Parenting Coordinators, Mediators, Custody Evaluators, Attorneys, Judges, Therapists, Parent Educators, and Other Professionals Who Work with High Conflict Families

Christine Crilley presents a comprehensive training that will form a foundation for your Parenting Coordination Practice. Parenting Coordination is an alternative dispute resolution process that is non-confidential, child centered; whereby the parenting coordinator works with parents (usually high conflict) toward a healthier co-parenting relationship, dispute resolution and decision making (sometimes by contract or Court Order the parenting coordinator makes the decision when the parents are unwilling or unable to do so).

 This specialty training is in topics relating to parenting coordination including the parenting coordination process, guidelines for the practice, family dynamics, domestic violence, best interest of the children, dealing with high conflict parents, parenting skills, problem solving techniques, dealing with conflict and much more.  And yes, we do a lot of role playing so you get a chance to practice parenting coordination.

*This training follows the AFCC Guidelines for Parenting Coordination.


14-Hour Collaborative Law Training*
October 3-4, 2019
Attorneys: 1.5 Ethics and 15.75 CLE credits

Two-Day Training For Mediators, Collaborative Professionals, Attorneys, CPAs, Financial Planners, Therapists, Child Advocates

Christine Crilley presents a comprehensive training that will form a foundation for your Collaborative Law Practice.  Collaborative Resolution occurs when parties work together as a “team” to reach a mutually agreeable solution. Attorneys facilitate the process for their clients and other “team” members in Iowa may include other Collaborative Professionals such as Financial Planners, CPAs, and Child Specialists (some jurisdictions also include Mental Health Coach).

The training will help you to develop a basic plan to set up a collaborative practice or to use the knowledge gained to become more effective with other people that you encounter or facilitate a dispute resolution process.
